I'M PART OF THE HOGWARTS STAFF AND I'M A HALF-GIANT. ------------------------------------------------- What is your full name, nickname, how did you get it and anything else you want to add: My name is Rubeus Hagrid and was given to my before I remember. I'm not sure if the name has a meaning or not but it doesn't matter much to me. I'm not that fond of nicknames but I've been known by my last name for a long time. It's a story I'll get into a little bit later. What was your childhood like? My childhood was great. I grew up with my dad. My mom left to go back to the giant colony when I was three. He raised me all by himself and I loved him a lot. He was a tiny man though and even from I was six I could pick him up and put him on the dresser. I generally did that when I was annoyed with him, or just to play around, much to his amusement. He was so happy when I got my acceptance letter to hogwarts. Did you like Hogwarts? Oh I loved Hogwarts, it was a home especially after my dad died in my second year. However I didn't get to stay as a student very long after that. You see I had this acromantula, Aragog is his name and I kept him in a box in one of the cupboards, but Tom Riddle found out and accused Aragog of being the reason people were getting hurt and girl Myrtle got killed. I know he didn't do it but since I had brought him into the castle and someone said I was raising werewolf cubs under my bed I got expelled. I never understood why, Aragog wouldn't hurt anyone, but there wasn't much I could do about it. Professor Dumbledore however talked Headmaster Dippet into letting me stay and train to be the gamekeeper and that's what I've been doing ever since. Don't get me wrong I like being a gamekeeper but I'm glad my dad wasn't around to see me get expelled and have my wand snapped. Oh I still have the wand by the way, hidden in a pink umbrella, but sssh don't tell anyone, strictly speaking I'm not allowed to do magic. Oh and Aragog still lives in the forest, I visit him sometimes in there, also I have my dog as company in my gamekeeper's hut, his name is Fang. Is there anything else you would like to add Hagrid? I don't know what else there is to stay other than the fact that I enjoy the company of rather... unusual pets? But you've gathered that already. Oh and I didn't say it properly up there but since my mom was a giant I'm half-giant and 8" tall, a little taller than the average.
