This city is at war -------------------- xp l a y t i m e f o r t h e y o u n g a n d r i c h Jaw clenched tightly, the vampire cut through the halls of the castle, the crowds beginning to dwindle, as the time wore on, pushing closer to their curfew. Of course, for the most part, despite his unique condition, Adrian was still expected to follow the rules of the castle. Which meant he'd likely get in trouble for his current actions at some point or another, but really? Fuck it. He needed to get out of the castle, and he needed to feed, before shit went down and he ended up hurting someone. Which he was almost positive would get him in one hell of a lot more trouble that sneaking out of the castle at night would. Really, there was absolutely no comparison. Especially if Bellatrix had actually been right about vampires having that...compulsion thing. Maybe he could use that on Filch if he got caught...
Finally slipping through the main doors of the castle, making it through before they closed for the night, the vampire made a beeline for the Forbidden Forest, moving just a bit faster than anyone could consider to be normal. Pausing at the forest's edge, he let out a heavy sigh, raking his fingers through his slightly unruly hair. Things lately had been...just a little bit stressful. Between having to start thinking about a career, and all of the things you'd hear about happening outside of the relative safety of the castle... And not to mention the fucked up situation he had managed to get himself into with Denali and Narcissa... The latter of which seeming to have quite the lingering prejudice against vampires, despite the fact that he had -- at least initially -- accepted him for what he was. He really did enjoy her company; the younger girl was adorable, and fun, and energetic, but all of the drama was starting to take its toll. Even more so considering his usual methods of getting blood were a bit out of the question. Seducing and biting the female population of the school became decidedly more difficult when you were romantically involved with someone. Even more with two someones, even if that particular piece of information wasn't quite common knowledge.
Giving his head a sharp shake, Adrian finally allowed himself to relax, both physically and mentally, knowing that the Forbidden Forest was the place he was least likely to run into a student. Letting his guard down felt good -- borderline amazing -- as he wandered, at a much slower pace along the edge of the forest, heading in the general direction of the nearest town to the school; Hogsmeade. A meal was a meal, he supposed, but he wasn't particularly thrilled at the amount of effort he was going to have to put in to get this one. If Dumbledore was going to allow vampires to attend Hogwarts, he should at the very least, provide them with the means to feed themselves. Especially if he didn't want any of his students bitten.

Those crazy moments when you realize you're screwed Zio was always up to his crazy stunts and today was no exception of this. He always felt bored and constricted within the castle and those moments when he had nothing to do were the moments when he found himself being at his most stupid and coming up with the most reckless stunts. It was a stupid thing to do for sure but that was Zio for you, no regards for personal safety. As long as it killed boredom it was worth the risk and today he had decided that climbing trees and seeing if he could manage to jump from one branch to the other seemed like a good idea. Now other people might have told him it wasn't if he'd asked but he really just wasn't one to ask. He didn't care if others didn't approve of his absolute and total lack of sanity at times. So here he was out in the forrest, a little ways away from the school yet still somewhere around the edge.
He smiled as he looked at the tree that happened to be JUST about the right ways away to be jumping distance. After all he really just had to get it done you know? So he took aim and jumped, barely managed to claw his way onto the branch he'd been aiming for, knocking his chest into it a little more roughly than planned he let out a small huff and then pulled himself back up. He grinned a little as he rubbed at his ribs and then took aim for a branch even slightly further away than the last one. He crouched down and took aim, however this time around he got a grip but then lost it and scratching his hands in the process dropped through a few other branches, trying desperately to grab onto them before he fell and landed painfully on a small root sticking up of the ground. The root was sharp and drove itself into his thigh causing a rather painful wound. He let out a pained yelp and stupid as he was pulled the leg free of the root causing blood to gush from the very nasty wound.
Oh yes Zio wasn't the smartest and therefore failed in the way of keeping his leg put in order to halt the massive bleeding that was bound to come out of this. He groaned as he watched the blood pour from the wound and tried hopelessly to get to his feet, he really needed to get back to the school and have this healed, and the fact that he was Zio meant that he wasn't nearly good enough at healing spells to do anything about this himself. He just had to get back, but his leg seriously wouldn't listen and so he dropped himself back down onto the ground with a sigh. Okay now what was he going to do? Maybe if he whistled loudly enough he could get one of the owls to come flying? He whistled as loudly as he could muster but he had no such luck and in the end he just closed his eyes and leaned back against the trunk of the tree which he'd fallen down from. He had multiple scratches all over the place but the worse of course happened to be the one on his leg. If only someone who could help him back to school would come by. But what was the chance? It was after curfew and he was in the forbidden forrest. He cursed himself for not telling anyone where he was going.

Stuffing his hands in his pockets as he walked, Adrian allowed his mind to wander. The path he was taking was familiar, and didn't require his attention, so long as he was just aware enough to not walk into any trees, which with his heightened sense of his surroundings, well, wouldn't be a problem for him. Now, or ever, really. A soft sigh escaped parted lips as he tilted his head back to glance at the moon that was only partially obscured by the foliage of the forest. Still on the way down, thankfully, which meant there were several weeks remaining until the next full moon, and the next time the school's werewolves would attack, and go on the war path. And by extension, the next time he would risk his not-quite-life to accompany and look after Denali. Try to keep her from killing herself in the process of keeping the rest of the world safe. Idiot.
Lost in his thoughts as he was, the far off rustling sound of someone or something disturbing the leaves in the trees above him. The small part of his mind that took it into account, the new part, the part that wasn't quite human, took note of it, but brushed it off as some sort of animal rustling around up there. After all, logic dictated the humans wouldn't be so stupid as to be in the forest after dark, much less would they be up in the trees. And all things aside, there were just too many smells around in the forest for him to pick up on anything in particular without making a concentrated effort to do so. Quirking a brow at a soft thud resonating from the trees above him, Adrian adjusted his path, veering just slightly off to the left, deeper into the forest, to avoid whatever in the trees may or may not be falling back to earth. So long as whatever it was didn't fall on him, he couldn't be arsed to investigate. That, and every moment he waited to feed, was another stab of hunger through his core, pushing him to become more and more dangerous as the seconds wore on.
The significantly louder thud that followed a few moments after the first, however, was nearly impossible to ignore. Especially considering it was accompanied by a sharp yelp. Distinctly human in variety. Growling lowly at the interruption to his evening, the vampire turned sharply, tracing the sound back to its source, not bothering to light his wand, considering he could see just fine in the dark without its aide. Of course, the loud whistling coming from the person in question made them -- or him, as Adrian realized as the person in question came into view -- all the easier to find. Slightly exasperated, he bit back a growl. "Orazio," he acknowledged the other male, eyeing him up. Honestly, he'd had more contact with the fucking Paraway family than would last him several lifetimes, so he couldn't be any less thrilled with who he had stumbled across. Until he realized the other male was bleeding, the smell of it hitting him like a ton of bricks.
Entire body tensing, every ounce of willpower going towards remaining completely still, Adrian bit out "what the fuck happened?" words coming across much harsher than intended, but courtesy was the very least of his concerns at the moment. Hands clenching into fists, he reflected on the fact that he should get his wand out, and heal the boy. But he was afraid any movement would break his already delicate hold on sanity. Catching sight of the wound on his thigh, and the way it was bleeding profusely was enough to sever that hold, and send his body moving towards Zio entirely of its own accord, and without his permission. In an instant he was at the male's side, pressing his hand to the wound, instincts warring, clashing, leaving him torn between attempting to stop the bloodflow, or leaving it to continue...and even perhaps making it worse.
The spike of adrenaline into the blood stream at invariably accompanied fear or pain, coupled with his pulse pounding away in his chest was enough to drive him over the edge completely, and without a second's hesitation, or a conscious thought in his mind, Adrian pinned the other male down, and in one swift motion, had cut off any struggling, burying his fangs in the boy's neck, entirely lost to his baser instincts.

Those crazy moments when you realize you're screwed Holy hell this hurt like nothing he'd ever experienced before and to be quite honest he was scared and adrenaline filled all rolled into one it was really quite freaky and he had no idea how he was going to get himself out of this one. In his mind he started to beat himself up over the fact that he'd been stupid enough to do this without letting anyone know where he was going. He really was gonna have an issue with this, if no one found him there was no way he was going to make it back to the school, not with his leg like this, he half thought maybe he should crawl but he was already feeling dizzy. He should try something though anything to get himself near people and all that! But he just had no energy to move and every moment his energy seemed to lessen even more. It was a struggle already.
The moment Adrian popped up he felt relieved at first, but there was something about the guy that made him feel even more on edge than he had been. He wasn't entirely sure what it was but whatever the hell it was it was making him more than a little nervous and it made him want to try to crawl away instead he stayed sitting against the tree watching the guy. He winced a little at the harsh tone of which the guy used to ask him what happened and bit his lip a little. Like he wasn't already feeling miserable enough without being snapped at. "I fell... a root poked a whole through my leg?" He actually found himself more than a little annoyed at this moment and bit his lip to keep himself from saying something he'd regret especially since he felt a little more than a little freaked out.
It was then everything went to hell and before he knew it he found himself pinned to the ground and a piercing pain as something else pierced his skin, it took him a moment to realize what was going and when he did realize he did end up screaming at the top of his lungs, honestly he knew he was in deep shit. He was bleeding badly already and had lost a bit of blood and on top of that he was now being drained by a fucking vampire, it was scary as hell and he found himself getting mor and more dizzy. He squeezed his eyes shut and despite knowing he was stuck he tried his very best to struggle free, it didn't help anything and he was falling into a deep darkness that threatened to take control and turn everything black. "Adrian please!" he found himself begging, not something he had ever thought possible before but he was begging to be allowed to live.
He had never been this scared in his entire life and for once he was actually crying, not that he noticed he was but tears were streaming down his face. For once he really just was fearing that he wouldn't come out of this alive. "Adrian! Don't kill me please!" he begged again but his voice was weak and cracking. He was loosing the battle to stay awake and he was loosing it fast. He needed... he needed to stay awake, and it took every ounce of strength he had not to completely pass out or even worse die. He would have been sobbing if it wasn't for the fact that he didn't have the strength to and eventually even his screams of utter terror seemed to die down and all he could do was stare weakly at the vampire who was draining him of life.

The pained screams that Zio was emmitting did nothing but further spur him on, completely lost within himself, any voice of reason, or compassion completely and utterly drowned out by the nearly deafening roaring of bloodlust tearing through him. Everything that was Adrian Dupont was gone, buried so far under the surface, pushed out of the way by everything that came with being a vampire, body operating on instinct alone. He vaguely registered Zio's strained voice, pleading for his life, could smell the salt of the tears pouring from his eyes as he struggled in vain to push the vampire off of him. But still, none of that mattered, and it sure as hell did nothing to stop him. In fact, all it had actually accomplished was causing the hands pinning him down to tighten, seeking to draw another scream from the mess of a boy writhing beneath him on the ground.
Eventually, the screaming, they crying, even the begging... it all stopped. The only sounds left were Zio's strained breathing, end the ever fading beating of his heart. Teeth burried in the boy's neck, Adrian felt every single beat of his heart as it kept pumping blood, forcing the boy closer and closer to death. And then? It began to falter. Feeling the once steady pulse grow weak and erratic, Adrian pulled back sharply, looking as though he'd been struck. His own breath coming in ragged gasps as he stared in wide eyed horror at what he'd done, body trembling slightly as his mind was accosted by unwanted memories of when he had been the one laying bloody and broken, staring up at the man that had killed him, heart struggling to beat. "FUCK!" he cursed harshly, striking out at the nearest solid object, before turning his full attention back to Orazio. Fuck. He'd as good as killed the kid. There was no way in hell he could get him back to the castle, or to anyone that could help before his heart stopped beating all together.
"ohgod," he murmured, kneeling back down next to the boy hesitantly. "fuck, Zio, I'm so sorry..." he had nothing more to say. After all, what else was there that he could say?! He'd just fucking KILLED someone. Even now he could hear his heartbeat getting fainter, and more irregular. He had probably minutes left. Less maybe. Gritting his teeth, he made his decision. After what had happened to him, he'd vowed that he would never be on this side of the picture. But fuck, he really didn't have a choice now. Hands shaking, he did his best to clear his face of the other boy's blood, before bringing his own wrist to his lips, and biting down, tearing through the vein found there, watching as his blood, fuck, Zio's blood too, pooled to the surface, leaving a deep red trail as it ran down his arm. "Zio, you've gotta listen to me," he started, setting his torn wrist in front of the boy's mouth, the blood dripping onto his lips. "If...fuck. If you want to live, you've got to drink." He couldn't stand the thought of turning anyone, but at this point, it was either that, or let Orazio die, which he wasn't about to do. He could only hope Zio would listen...

Those crazy moments when you realize you're screwed Zio felt himself growing weaker and weaker by the moment, he would have tried to push Adrian away again but his body wasn't listening, all he could do was focus on taking one breath after the other. It was at that moment that Adrian stopped, and then just looked down at him. The guy seemed upset maybe even as upset as Zio himself was about all of this. He was confused, a moment ago there seemed to be no relenting in the fierceness of Adrian yet now, all of a sudden there was remorse and even an honest look of shock over what he'd just done. Even in his fading mind Zio realized Adrian hadn't had control over his own actions when doing this and as Adrian said he was sorry Zio simply shook his head weakly land muttered in a voice so quiet it was barely even a whisper. "I...it's....o-okay..."
Tears were still flowing down his cheeks even though his body was doing that without him noticing it, and he must look like a complete mess right now. He just wanted to sort of communicate that he wasn't feeling any hostility towards the guy. It was weird, he knew he was dying but looking at Adrian right then there was no way he could feel anger towards him, the guy looked thoroughly upset about what he'd just done. He was just about to fade as he felt something wet against his lips and he was told to drink. At first he was disgusted when he realized what it was but instinct told him to keep drinking and soon he found himself leaning up to drink more fully from Adrian's arm, grasping onto it as he closed his eyes and drank hungrily. He didn't know why he was doing it and his human mind was screaming that this was seriously just wrong.
After a while he let go and writing as a new wave of intense pain coursed through him. Oh hell what was this? He felt like his body was on fire and wide, scared eyes looked at Adrian. He was feeling seriously freaked out once more and yet somehow he knew it would be alright. It was all a very weird, pained and muddled experience. Once more he felt his heart slow and then to his horror he felt it stop. The bood that had been pumping through his head and heard in his ear was gone yet somehow he found himself still alive. Then suddenly he realized that he wasn't breathing, only to realize he didn't need to. This was... freaky. And then he noticed it. He was so hungry and he wasn't entirely sure what he was hungry for. It was like a fire in his throat as if he hadn't had anything to drink or eat for days, he stared at Adrian in shock. What he hell had just happened, his mind was still too muddled to realize it, yet his subconsciousness still had a feeling that he wasn't the same Zio anymore. "Wh-what....what..." he blinked and bit his lip. "Wha...what just happened?... why am I so...hungry?"

Adrian breathed an audible sigh of relief as Zio responded, following his directions. The corner of his lips quirked up just ever so slightly in the bare bones ghost of a smile, as Zio managed to muster up the strength to sit up slightly. He was going to be alright. At the very least, he’d be able to continue to exist...though not quite live. A soft groan escaped escaped him as Zio continued to drink, his grip on Adrian’s arm getting stronger and stronger, and Adrian let him continue, despite the fact that the sensation was entirely alien, and somewhere between painful...and just absolutely surreal. Not entirely unpleasant, actually. Considering he’d never done this before, he wasn’t sure how much of his blood this process would take, and so, he just allowed the other male to drink until he pulled away on his own accord. Which left Adrian feeling almost right back where he had started, before biting Orazio. Breathing heavily, he stared at Zio in silence, waiting for the next portion of the process to begin. This, he definitely remembered.
The vampire offered a small apologetic smile when Orazio gazed up at him, eyes wide, clearly scared. He didn’t say anything, just waited in silence, watching carefully. The moment it was over, he was back at Zio’s side, giving him a moment to gather himself again. Adrian bit his own lip, considering his answer before speaking, in a slightly strained voice. “You died,” he murmured, before continuing softly, “you’re...a vampire now.” He nodded, giving a small smile, flashing his fangs, “like me.” He stood as gracefully as he could manage, offering the boy his hand. “You’re hungry because you need blood...” Another nod, and he averted his gaze, sighing softly. “We both do, now.”
Helping the newly turned vampire to his feet, Adrian stared at him for a moment, before speaking softly, “I...had to turn you. Otherwise you would’ve died for real.” His voice broke while explaining, despite his best efforts to appear confident and unphased. “You know, you don’t actually look so different,” he offered, forcing a smile, and a light laugh. “Your eyes are a bit brighter,” he pointed out with a nod, tapping the other boy’s cheek lightly, slightly taken aback by the fact that his body had already started to change, giving him a bit of the ‘brick wall’ characteristic that vampires had. “How’s your leg doing?” he asked, glancing down, wondering how fast his healing ability would set in. “If you’re okay to walk,” he started, running a hand through his hair roughly, averting his gaze once more, “we should head to Hogsmeade.” A small pause, “I’ll...have to teach you how to...y’know. Feed.”
