the ball is running very smoothly, a few hours in. two casual maker-outers sneak away from the dance floor to huddle in the bushes, when the night takes the worst possible turn with a new discovery. there is someone already in the bushes, or perhaps we should say, a corpse... screams pierce the night. the ball is shut down early as the professors and prefects herd the students back to their dormitories. now the investigation begins. none of the professors will confirm anything at this point, for it is too early to tell, but all signs point to a murder at hogwarts. who's to blame?
