theres a thunder in our hearts baby so much hate for the ones we love TAG: FRANK OUTFIT: LOOK AT PICTURE ONE LAST THING: this is going to be so cute (:
grace actually had a date. that was quite big. and the funny thing about this date was not that it was frank longbottom from gryffindor. the funny thing was indeed that he had no clue that it was grace who was his date. his best friend, alice had set up a blind date and had picked grace. grace was very honored. not that she was in love with frank, he was nice and all that, and yes, he happened to be quite handsome, but that was just a small bonus. grace had no idea what to expect from this evening.
but right now she was in the dormitory, getting ready. she had been in hogsmeade with alice, charity and lily to buy a dress. grace had decided on a red, floorlong dress. it was quite pretty, in her own opinion. and the other girls found it stunning. the seventh year hufflepuff girls dormitory was packed, that wasn't in itself something new, but there were also younger girls in here. grace had no problems with that, she liked everyone. well, mostly everyone. slytherin students scared her. and cayden intimidated her, but that was all. grace was kinda happy that she wasn't cayden's date, because she somehow felt like he was using his good looks to get attention from all the girls. she had trouble believing that he actually had turned two girls down, but oh well, some people were just cocky.
grace was now just wearing her underwear and was thinking about what to do with her hair. she agreed with herself to get with a ponytail. grace put on a light makeup and found her long, red dress and admired it for a minute, before she slid it on. some people would maybe think that she had chosen a red dress, because she was going with a gryffindor, but that wasn't the case. quite the contrary actually. she just liked the color red, and this one was gorgeous. so it wasn't because frank was a gryffindor.
after about ten minutes, she started walking upstairs towards outside the great hall. alice had instructed her to be there and so frank would meet her there. now she was starting to get nervous and maybe a bit paranoid; maybe frank didn't wanted to do this after all, maybe he had been told by someone that it was grace who was his blind date and then backed out... in situations like this, grace was extremely paranoid and felt a sudden hit filled with very low self-confidence.
now grace just stood there, right outside the great hall and waited. she was shaking a bit and also sweating a bit, even though she kept whispering to herself that if she smelled like sweat when frank showed up, it would give the worst first impression. after another minute or so, she looked around in the big heap of people and spotted frank. she didn't wanted to seem too obvious, so grace allowed him to find her. that was most gentleman-like. grace just flashed a bright smile.

Frank was an easy enough guy. He rarely ever got involved with girls or events that took place at the school. You could say that he didn’t do well when it came to being social, at least when it was forced upon him, it was probably one of the many reasons why he never joined any organizations that were available at Hogwarts. Though somehow, someway his best friend had talked him into going to the opening ball. Frank didn’t mind going, but the only parts of the whole thing was that it was a secret who the girl was. If there was nothing more that Frank hated it were secrets, not knowing who the person was had been borderline torture. It was also like torture to try and get information about the girl, though he knew that Alice could in fact be the perfect person to pick him out a date, he hated to have the girl wrapped in mystery of any kind. Even if he and Alice had a deal that the girl would be up to his specifications, Frank couldn’t help but feel like Alice would fail somehow, that possibly the girl was going to be absolutely atrocious and have poor manners. All in all, it was a lingering feeling in the back of his mind that this was going to be terrible.
Generally he wasn’t this negative, even now he tried to banish the thoughts that the girl was some Slytherin waiting to hex him the moment that he offered the corsage that he had made using the petals a rich color of red, it had some sort of white flowers in addition to it, which had appeared shortly after the charm was finished. Frank wasn’t certain how it had happened, but magic was a glorious thing and worked in such odd ways. Honestly he rarely put much though into his appearance, even if he knew that he had to wear something extravagant he half thought of wearing a pair of his best jeans and a tee shirt. The more that Frank thought of that outfit the more that he thought of Alice, her fussing over him and banishing him to his room for being such a prat. All in all, he finally decided against it all together, instead he found the dress robes that his mother bought him at the beginning of the year; they were simple, tailored like how you would see tuxes, it was simple black everything, but the white long sleeved shirt that he’d wear underneath the jacket and vest with gold buttons and cufflinks. As he dressed he fussed with everything, from the collar to cuffs, feeling more than uncomfortable, he hated getting dressed up. There was nothing that he could do with his hair, it would either look silly if he wet it and tried to tame the mane, or look strange if he did do anything, and he resolved to let it rest in its usual untamed cut that managed to get into his face.
Sauntering down the stairs that lead to the great hall, he paused, how would he know which girl was his? This was the problem with mysteries, the only thing that he knew was that she was wearing a red dress, and that was from no help on Alice’s part. Looking down, he searched the faces and colors of dresses searching for a girl alone in red. It wasn’t until he saw Grace that he smiled. Carefully he walked to her and offered him her hand. ”Not going to the dance eh? You were playing me weren’t you?” he asked her amused, carefully he pulled out of his inner jacket pocket the flower and held it out for her. ”I hope I got the colors right, I did it all on a whim.”

theres a thunder in our hearts baby so much hate for the ones we love TAG: FRANK OUTFIT: LOOK AT PICTURE ONE LAST THING: i just wanna hug both of them for being so cute! <3
grace couldn't help but smile. she had to admit to herself, at least for now, that frank looked very handsome. well, that wasn't something new. she actually always found him handsome, grace was just a bit too shy to say it out loud. grace looked around, offering him a great smile and allowed him to take her hand. a nod with her head told him that he was right. she had indeed played him, but that sounded so wrong. it sounded like she was playing with his emotions and grace didn't wanted that. frank was a nice boy, right? he didn't seemed like the type to play with girls feelings. in fact he seemed quite genuine. and she would in fact envy the girl he would end up with eventually. because, frank longbottom seemed like the perfect gentleman; sweet, honest, nice and fairly attractive.
"i'm so sorry frank, but i couldn't exactly tell you. it would ruin the big surprise. and it wouldn't be a blind date if you knew, right?" she said with a slight rosy color in her cheeks. grace actually felt sorry for him. but she had promised alice not to say anything and a promise was a promise. at least in grace's world. then she saw the corsage and met his eyes, and smiled broadly at him. she then leaned in and did something very not grace-like; she leaned in and kissed his cheek, even though it required her standing on her tiptoes. quickly she pulled away, with a slight blush across her face. then she preoccupied herself with looking at the flowers. very throughly, so he wouldn't see the slight pink color on her face. the red color was exactly the same as her dress. it was indeed very thoughtful of him. she wondered if he had made the corsage himself. "it's gorgeous, frank. really. it's perfect." she said and nodded with a big, yet kinda shy smile on her lips.
grace looked around and saw that there were starting to get more people around here, and she really wanted to go outside to the place where the actual party was, before she started sweating too much,. surely, frank would understand that. she then gave his hand a small, yet something he would feel, squeeze and looked outside the big doors. "are you ready to go out there?" she asked with a small smile. grace then looked at him, while biting her lowerlip a bit, and yes. by now, she found him immensely beautiful. it had helped a lot that he had brought this beautiful corsage to her.
"i forgot to tell you, frank. you look really good in your dress robes. they suit you really good." she said with a small nod and a small smile to get with it. it wasn't because she expected him to compliment her dress, but it could be nice. but that wasn't why she complimented him. grace actually found him overly attractive in his dress robes.

He was glad to finally know the person that he was going to the dance with. Now that he knew that it was Grace, he couldn’t be happier. Grace was a nice girl, pretty too, she was already his friend, and Frank couldn’t help but thank Alice for her choice in his date. Though at first he had been so apprehensive in her choice, but seeing Grace now it was perfect, the perfect choice for him at least. Even more so as she was his friend, Frank didn’t have to worry about not enjoying himself he found Grace entertaining and sweet. This was actually going to be fun, he didn’t have much to worry about and he certainly didn’t have to worry any longer about her being a Slytherin or someone just terrible. Grace was going to make the dance enjoyable, something that Frank hadn’t expected.
’Pft. Surprise sherprize. I would have slept a ton better knowing you were my date and not an atomic spider.” he told her. Frank wouldn’t go into bright details with anyone about his vivid imagination and how it tends to run rampant when left alone for too long. It didn’t help that Frank believed just about everything that people told him and he was made of fifty percent spaz and rarely took things serious unless the occasion really required it which people never brought their serious situation to Frank because when they did, it would just end up with him being over bearing like a father. When it came to friends, he was like a big bear, full of hugs, or teeth. He was content to know that she liked the flower, being romantic wasn’t in his vocabulary. He was hit with surprise when she kissed him on the cheek; girls didn’t do that towards him at all. Frank was just glad that she liked the flower. ”Glad you liked it took me an hour to make it that shade of red, it was brown and green at one point. If you see any tinges of those in it, just ignore it for my pride’s sake.” he joked.
His eyes searched the crowd for a few moments, taking in everything as the people filled in and outside the gardens. It was now or never, if he didn’t go now he would probably end up flattened by his nerves, aside from the fact if he didn’t Alice would haunt him in his dreams and make him feel bad for the whole event. ”Let’s do it. Last ball we’ll have before we graduate.” he gave her a wink, repeating the words she had told him a few days before. Frank peered down at his appearance. ”Oh thanks, I didn’t even try, just put on what my mum got me and did absolutely nothing with the hair.” he told her. It was all truth; he didn’t put much to his appearance. ”You look pretty stellar yourself” leave it to Frank to call someone stellar. Walking carefully to the gardens he tugged gently on her hand. ”Let’s go dance, before I lose the will to.”

theres a thunder in our hearts baby so much hate for the ones we love TAG: FRANK OUTFIT: LOOK AT PICTURE ONE LAST THING: eeeeee, so cute!
grace had to admit that frank being her date was kind of perfect. alice had done a good job. right when alice had first had told grace that she was supposed to go to the ball with frank, she had been confused and wondered why, even though alice had told her all the reasons. it was nice being called beautiful, smart, clever and cute. all those kinds of things, but it still came as a surprise to grace. but right now, when she held frank's hand, she couldn't be happier.
an atomic spider? well, luckily she wasn't an atomic spider. all the slytherins were probably what he thought who was atomic spiders. grace didn't thought she was an atomic spider, she was just a girl from hufflepuff. a muggleborn, alright, but did that really made her an atomic spider? grace shook her head quickly and smiled at him. "i hope you don't think i'm an atomic spider. i guess.... i'm just me, right?" she asked with a bit of a nervous voice. an atomic spider was definitely something bad, and grace hoped that frank didn't saw her like something bad. plus, spiders were nasty and gross. maybe, frank saw her as some disgusting thing. no, grace was just being naive now. of course, she couldn't know, but it didn't seemed like it.
as he mentioned about the corsage, that he had used an hour to make it, it made her smile and then he said that it had been both green and brown at one point, she started to examine it a bit. not to find some shades of the brown or anything, she just really admired him for having spent so long time making it. some boys (not that grace knew a whole lot of boys) wouldn't even think about making flower corsages for the girl, so this was so nice. again, she looked for his eyes and smiled with hers. grace had been told that she had a lovely smile and that she was good at smiling with her entire face, so she tried doing it as much as possible, without it would be awkward or too much. "you did a really good job, frank. i don't see anything brown or green." grace could see that he was surprised when she kissed his cheek, but it was nothing but a friendly gesture, because she really appreciated the corsage.
last ball before we graduate. he was so right. it was a bit terrifying. but still, grace couldn't wait to graduate. she felt somehow trapped at hogwarts, even though she felt it like her second home. but the good thing about it was that she knew exactly what she wanted to do after she graduated - she wanted to study to become a reporter at the daily prophet. not witch weekly, that was too much gossip for grace's taste. grace snapped out of her thoughts and looked at him, when he winked at her. she blushed slightly, but nodded. she was as ready as she could get, really. nothing could stop her. as he started talking about his clothes and hair, grace let out a small giggle. he looked pretty handsome for having his mother having picked out his suit. and his hair was very attractive too. then frank complimented how she looked, and again grace blushed slightly. she just smiled broadly at him, before they started walking in direction of outside where it all went down.
grace felt a gently tugging on her hand. dancing, ah yes. grace was actually a fair dancer. so then she took control, at least for a moment and pulled him out to the dancefloor, which was under a pavilion and it was actually quite romantic with enchanted lights floating around up in the ceiling. grace let go of his hand and placed her hand at his shoulder, and the other one, she intertwined their fingers and waited for him to place his hand on her hip and then when it was done, she started dancing, but quickly she allowed him to take the lead. she was a lady and the gentleman would always take the lead, right? at least, it was that way in all of her books.

If there was something that Frank didn’t want to admit, it was to Alice that she had done a great job. Though he had been so worried, like she didn’t know what was going on in his head and what he liked, leave it to Alice that he was wrong. He was even worried that he wouldn’t enjoy himself at the dance to begin with, especially with all that he had worried about. So long as they were going to have an uneventful occasion, then Frank couldn’t be any more content. So long as Grace didn’t expect him to dance like a swan. He had to wonder what his mother would think. Most who met his mother knew she was a very strong personality, sometimes she was a bit hard to be around when she is trying to get her point across. What would she think if she learned her only son was going to a dance? It was probably one of those events that he wasn’t going to mention to her, it was safe, so long as Alice didn’t mention it, not that Frank believed that Alice spoke to his mother on a normal basis to begin with.
”You’re not an atomic spider, it was just what my head was going through when this whole event started.” Frank wasn’t the greatest thinker; he was the type that thought of the negative long before he went over what positive possibilities could happen. Most people knew that he was neurotic and what most would call as spastic person, it was a course of habit. ”You are more than just simply you, you’re a very special girl.” he was so positive in other cases, especially when talking to people, he hated to drag people down. When she commented about the flower Frank beamed, he had been worried that it was going to be completely terrible, he wasn’t the guy that was great at the romance stuff, it was probably one of the reasons that he had asked Alice to find him a date, and not himself find one.
When she commented on his flower he was quite impressed with himself here he had done something that he would never do again. Flowers in general were a little beyond him, why women would want to wear them on their necks or wrists, sometimes they had them adorned in their hair. Frank just knew that they liked him, he didn’t know the reasoning’s, though he did know why women liked jewelry, and it was a way to show off to their friends that someone liked them; that is something that didn’t die. Women were so pretentious. It was probably one of the reasons why Frank hadn’t dated much while he was in Hogwarts, especially people younger than him, in fear that he would like them and then have to work on a relationship while training to become an auror. Probably not one of his better social aspects, but it was just a habit of his.
Dancing, though he wanted to, he hoped that he didn’t step on Grace’s foot. That was most certainly Frank’s main worry, he didn’t do well with stepping gracefully, he was certainly the foot stomping kind of guy, he did it when he was just walking down the halls. There had been numerous occasions when he had apologized endlessly for stepping on someone’s poor feet; it was just something that he had been cursed with. When he had asked his father how he danced so well the best answer he gave was that he faked it. Frank wasn’t sure how to fake good dancing, but he was going to do it tonight for Grace’s sake. He fell into place when she placed her hand on his shoulder and then interlaced their fingers together; he took his free hand and gently placed it on her waist. Frank looked down at his feet cautiously, taking a step forward, leading her in the only dance that he knew how to do thanks to his mother’s lessons, hopefully they’ll be enough for him.
