"] Compared to the dress that Alice had shown her Charity now felt like her dress was nothing much. Other girls would have been spiteful about having someone top their dress, right? That was hardly the case for Charity Burbarge, actually it was quite the opposite. Making a scene was something that she wouldn't be opposed to but snazzy dress up occasions certainly weren't her thing. Dancing was the only high point of the night that she was actually going to draw authentic enjoyment from. Regulus would also be present, he was the one who was her date. It had been something that she assumed but after a brief tiff it had been established that he was going as her date. It made Charity all the more bouncy, thoroughly excited that her established boyfriend would be escorting her to the dance. A dress, a date, a ball. At least she would really give an attempt at trying to enjoy the night. The music would be ridiculous, Dumbledore insisted that the entertainment was live and everyone got worked up and sung along to all of the songs that they knew. She could depend on the variety of food and the decorations would be something that would take her breath away. The night wouldn't be that bad. Ages had been focused on getting ready, since Charity decided that she would try the muggle way of getting everything done. Initially she had the pretense that it would be absolutely brilliant to try and twist her hair up the way that she had seen the muggles do with their own hair. Sadly, Charity presumptions had been diffused after twenty minutes of awkwardly positioning her arms in an attempt to stab bobby pins in her hair. A hour later and she finally had an intricate twist made out of her hair, along with an aching scalp and a pile of bent bobby pins littering her bed. Makeup wasn't something that she hadn't focused too much of her time on. All Charity had really done was obtain a small vile of something known as 'pixie dust.' The whole bottle, which wasn't very big to begin with, was sprinkled over her chest and arms. She almost squealed when she noticed that she shimmered each time that she made even the most subtle of moves. Slipping into her dress had been the easiest part, a hand reached back and she was zipped up and almost completely ready to go. Her heels weren't high, only two inches at most because with them she would stand at six feet even. Charity really didn't want to feel like a giant teetering over Regulus the whole night. She wasn't going to be your cliche girl, sticking to waiting at the staircase while their date ambled down at their own pleasure. Charity had taken to lounging around her dormitory for a while, sprawled out on her bed and toyed with the game called Chutes and Ladders. The whole dormitory had been cleared by the time Charity decided that she should slide off her bed and make her way down to the entrance hall of the castle. Everyone was bustling around her, even the paintings were excited to see all of the students in flashy attire. Charity chirped on to a few of the paintings, flushing when a few of them complimented her on her choice of dress. She lingered in the hall for only a few moments before she decided that Regulus wasn't hanging around, waiting for her to suddenly appear. Her feet carried her out to the gardens and it was a shock when she actually collided with Regulus. "Reg!" Charity circled around to face him, a beaming smile pasted onto her face. Her hand reached out easily her fingers laced through his. "I was looking for you," she cooed, eyes alive as she glanced over at him. Then she made a face and used her free hand to poke at the silver clip in her hair. "Is this too much?"Sulli and baby Reg , 669 words , Outfit ,Pretty dress time ,

Regulus had slaved over tuxedo choices all weekend and could say with completely honesty that he never wanted to see another tuxedo in his life time. His mother had sent a few for him to choose from which was nicely convenient. He had neglected to mention that he was attending the ball with a Gryffindor girl. She wouldn't have been quite as accepting, but then she didn't like Gryffindor, even if his date was a pureblood.
Regulus had settled for a pitch black suit with a silk lining. It was nothing outrageously expensive or something that would make him stand out, but it would suit the occasion nicely. He wasn't going to impress everyone...just Charity and she liked him whether he wore anything or not.
After righting his hair and lacing his shoes, Regulus made his way upstairs for the ball. He stood around and talked to a few other guys waiting on their dates and after a moment of shifting around uncomfortably on his feet, decided to go to the gardens. The fresh, cool night air would help calm his nerves.
Regulus did not see anyone he would like to talk with there so he settled for roaming the gardens and charming the flowers making them glow. He was about to make another round around the roses when someone collided with him from behind. He turned, ready to curse whomever it was, only to rest eyes on Charity. Dressed in the same dazzling white dress from the other night, she looked absolutely breathtaking. He couldn't take his eyes off of her. Regulus quickly shook his head at her question and took her hand.
"You look amazing, Charity." He reached up and stroked her flushed cheeks before leaning in and kissing them delicately. Regulus was not the sort of guy to drool over a girl, but Charity looked absolutely amazing. As he stood there next to her he felt like a shadow following in her wake. He quickly thrust that thought side. Tonight they would be the talk of the ball. He hadn't wanted to attend, but now that he was here he was glad he had decide to join the festivities. Even now a few students glanced their way. Let them look. He would proudly escort Charity onto the dance floor and show off all of those annoying dance lessons his mother had forced him to take. He couldn't wait for the night to officially begin.

"] Her last experience at a school functioned event that had involved pretty dresses, dress robes, and dancing hadn't been a memory that she wished to preserve in her mind. The date that she had taken turned out to be a prat who only had one goal in mind. Before the night was over Charity's heel had found its way towards his prized possession and the whole castle had gotten a laugh out of watching him fall to the floor. All of the night had fallen through and the expectations that Charity had made were horribly let down. Eventually Charity had all together removed herself from the ball, after scoffing at her date and throwing a goblet of pumpkin juice onto his head. After justice had been served she really didn't any more of a reason to linger around the ball. It had been a disappointing night. Regulus would be able to top that memory instantly. There weren't many expectations that he had to top, admittedly. Her past love life, as brief as it may have been, was filled with names that she was ashamed to admit. Regulus was not by any means the type of guy that Charity Burbage was usually attracted to. He was more dark, brooding, and troubled. The boys who were light, joking by nature, and a bit of an airhead seemed to be the kind that she gravitated towards. It was a change and she found that it was actually pleasant, despite how unpleasant Regulus had came off at first. She had collided with him, completely on accident because her excitement had been blinding her vision. The fact that Regulus was a part of the noble Black family had been cast aside. Just like she had been disregarding his year and the house that had been sorted into. None of it mattered, the only thing that was apparent to her was the smile that he greeted her with when he turned to face her. Charity couldn't help that her cheeks were flushed, the whole moment was invigorating and now she was closer to Regulus. The gentle kisses caused her to erupt into a smile while her face lit up with even more color. "Sh, Reg. Compliments are off limits tonight. You'll be punished if you try to praise me anymore," Charity teasingly scolded, leaning into him and reaching a hand up to poke gently at his nose. Of course, she was wholly playing about everything. The compliment boosted her self esteem, feeding her ego so she became more assured of herself. Charity with an ego was a bad thing, no one needed to be revealed to a blond with a head inflation issue. Her arms wrapped around his neck, her attention focused onto him and nothing else for the moment being. People were glaring at them, Charity had decided to direct them right into the center of the path. No one dared to shove at them though or tell them to gain some manners, they were aware that the boy was a Black and Charity had a temper that was easily riled at rudeness. Blue eyes latched onto his and her face was drawn closer to his. "Seeing you look all crisp in your tuxedo makes you even more irresistible," Charity purred out, her eyes dropping down from his eyes to his lips. There wasn't any hesitation, she leaned in and slowly and satisfyingly pressed her lips against his. "Any more and I'll tempted to give up the idea of the ball all together," she whispered against his lips, lingering closer to him for a moment before pulling away. The kiss had left her feeling breathless, like every time that she came into contact with Regulus. Even having him brush his hand against her cheek caused her to shiver violently because of the pleasure she drew from having him willingly lay his hands onto her. She took a deep breath and focused on running her hands over her stomach to smooth out her dress. "As much as I would like that I'm not going to let this dress or my bloody hair go to waste. I hope you enjoy dancing," Charity chirped, looking back up at him with a grin bubbling onto her face. There was no time for him to answer, she took his hand and threaded her fingers through his. With her three inch heels she was still able to walk easily beside him. "The gardens look lovely. Especially the fairy lights," she offhandedly complimented, glancing around as they were directed closer towards the space that had been designated as the dance floor. She would make sure to enjoy it all. Sulli and baby Reg , 766 words , Outfit ,Pretty dress time ,
